Much of what people come for in the Bernese Oberland is sold as a ticket, not a tour: the Berner Oberland Pass, a boat day pass for Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, the Grindelwald First cableway and Cliff Walk, the Harder Kulm funicular, the Beatus Caves, the Ballenberg open-air museum and tickets to the Jungfraujoch. Ranked by verified reviews.

Check availability →Good to know: A ticket gets you in but leaves the journey to you, so check the train times to the valley station. A pass only pays off if you ride a lot; add up the lines you actually plan to use and compare them with single tickets before you buy. Some cable cars close for maintenance or in bad weather, so keep a flexible day.
Good to know
No. They are separate places in the valleys behind the town, reached by train, bus or cable car. Interlaken is the base; the sights are a journey away.
By rail it takes a little over two hours each way, so it is a full day. If you only have an afternoon, a nearer excursion such as Lauterbrunnen gives you more time looking at the view.
No. Interlaken lies between two lakes, Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and there is no sea. The boat and kayak offers on this site are sightseeing trips, not swimming trips.
Many popular Interlaken tours start in other cities. They are a different starting point, so we list only offers that begin in Interlaken and its valleys. If you are staying elsewhere, check the departure point before you book.
Only if you will travel a lot. For a few days around Interlaken, single tickets can be cheaper. Both passes give a discount on the Jungfraujoch, not free entry; compare your planned journeys with the pass price and check on the booking page what is included.
Paragliding, boat trips and cable cars depend on wind and cloud, and the Jungfraujoch can be white on the day. Check the forecast and webcams, keep a spare day, and choose offers with free cancellation or rescheduling.
There is no sea, no beach, no large old town and no big museums in the town itself. It is a base for mountains, lakes and adventure sports, and prices reflect that. Bigger city sights are in Bern and Lucerne, each an hour or two away by train.
