How Much Does a Day in Interlaken Cost?

Updated October 21, 2026 · 5 min read

Interlaken rooftops between two lakes with high Alpine peaks in the distance

The short answer

An activity day can start at €21.57 for the Beatus Caves, rise to €44.77 for a day on Lakes Thun and Brienz, or reach €280.47 for the guided Jungfraujoch trip. Those are per-person starting prices, before food, accommodation and local transport not stated as included. For most budget-conscious visitors, the caves are the clear pick; for scenery without the Jungfraujoch price, choose the boat pass.

The low-cost day

The Beatenberg ticket gives access to one of Switzerland’s largest cave systems and its geology museum. It leaves much more of the day budget available for meals and travel, but it is not an Interlaken-wide transport pass.

The middle option

The boat pass is built around a full day on Lake Thun, with Lake Brienz described for spring and summer. It costs €23.20 more than the cave ticket. That supplement buys a moving landscape rather than another indoor attraction, but it is poor value if you only board briefly.

The premium day

The guided Jungfraujoch tour lasts 7 hours. Its €280.47 starting price is €235.70 above the boat pass, so it should be the centrepiece of the day, not an add-on. Skip it when cloud hides the high mountains or when the price would force you to cut several other days.

What the total still needs

Accommodation and meals come on top, and they move a daily total more than the choice of activity does: a hostel bed and a mountain hotel are not the same purchase, so there is no single daily figure here.

Our recommendation

For the best low-cost day, book the Beatus Caves ticket. Choose the boat pass when lake scenery is the priority. Pay for Jungfraujoch only when the forecast, budget and desire for a high-Alpine day all line up. Check availability and prices for the Beatus Caves
